Whiteman Park is located 20km northeast from the CBD,
has long been a favorite for bird watchers. The bike and walking trails
through a variety of habitats offer a wider range of species available
than at similar sites closer to the CBD. A tram service runs through
the park connecting different areas, such as the mussel pools, grasslands,
swamp and bushlands. Interesting species that are known to occur in Whiteman
Park are the Painted Button-quail, Elegant Parrot, Red-capped Parrot,
robin, woodswallow and cuckoo species. Wedge-tailed Eagles have also
been recorded. There are few places within Perth's metropolitan area
that offer such diversity of native plants - with nearly half of the
Park's 4300 hectares (10,000 acres) designated as conservation areas
it's easy to see why.
Whiteman
Park also has a diverse number of other attractions. From early transport
methods including motor and tractor museum, an operating
electric tram and railway to Bushwalking Trails complete with interpretive
notes our trails which will let you take a closer look at the Park's bushland
and wetland areas. The park is ideal for a family outing and is part of
the Caversham Wildlife Park.

SWIM
WITH WILD DOLPHINS - An exhilarating, once in a
lifetime encounter that many dream of, but few ever have the opportunity
to experience.
Well, here's your opportunity. Tomorrow morning you could join the crew
of Rockingham Dolphins for our daily swim with wild dolphins. We have
been swimming with this group
of dolphins for over 15 years, and it's only because of this long and
trusting relationship that the dolphins allow us to bring visitors into
their world. You'll cruise out to the sheltered shallows of Rockinghams
calm, clear bays in search of any of the 150 bottlenose dolphins that
we now call
our friends, then it's on with mask and snorkel and you enter the the
water to live your dream. Suddenly the water is filled with flashing
grey torpedoes. The air is filled with whistles, splashes and laughter
- human and dolphin. Meet Logo, Boomerang, Ringo and other wild dolphins
in their natural environment. They don't do tricks, and we don't feed
them - we simply
spend some time enjoying each other's company. It's a wild encounter. Please
appreciate that these are wild encounters. The wildlife we visit are
exceptionally consistent in their habits and successful encounters
are extremely reliable. But please remember we are visiting wild animals
in their own environment. We ask you to approach each encounter
with caution and respect, and to never presume that we have any control
over their appearance or actions
whatsoever.
DOLPHIN

The
bell tower situated at Barracks Square on Perth's foreshore
provides stunning views of Perth and South Perth across the Swan River.
The Swan Bells include the twelve bells of St Martin-in-the-Fields which
are recorded as being in existence from before the 14th century and recast
in the 16th century by Queen Elizabeth I.The bells were again recast
between 1725 and 1770 by three generations of the Rudhall family of bell
founders from Gloucester in England, under the order of the Prince of
Wales who was later crowned as King George II. They are one of the few
sets of royal bells and are the only ones known to have left England.
From one of London's most famous churches, in Trafalgar Square, the St
Martin-in-the-Fields bells have rung out to celebrate many historic events.
